Design a multi-purpose vacuum for different spaces.
After modeling in Solidworks, parts were 3-D printed using Shapeways white, strong, and flexible material (Nylon).
Two weeks were spent sanding, priming, and spray painting the model. The final coat was sprayed on in quick bursts. This left a toothy texture on the model, which gave the illusion of injection molded plastic.
Within the vacuum, I attached a pulley system using a hair tie and metal wire. This allowed the vacuum nose to slightly bend, demonstrating the foldable vacuum concept.
All done! The final model was displayed at the College for Creative Studies Student Exhibition May 2016.
